In the past 2 years, the amount of time people are using entertainment apps on their phone has increased by 30%, according to research from Nielsen

Entertainment is becoming the dominant relationship people have with their phones. That's why in effect, even banks are competing with Amazon, Netflix, Spotify and Facebook for customers' share of mind and share of time.

The time people are spending on apps in general is also increasing dramatically. While the number of total apps used remains consistent, there has been a 63% rise in time spent on apps in just 2 years.
