BankDirector Acquire or Be Acquired Conference Presentation from StrategyCorps: The Amazon Prime Effect

January 24, 2018

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At this year’s BankDirector Acquire or Be Acquired Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., Dave DeFazio, partner at StrategyCorps, will host a breakout session titled, “The Amazon Prime Effect.” As subscription services are quickly becoming the dominant strategy of today’s best retailers, bankers have a duty to understand this trend and drive their bank beyond just transactions to connect better with modern consumers.

In the session, DeFazio will share new research from a recent study by Ron Shevlin of Cornerstone Advisors, commissioned by StrategyCorps, that reveals behaviors of the growing number of dedicated subscription buyers. Nearly 90 percent of consumers belong to at least one subscription service, and 33 percent of people subscribe to six or more services. The research reveals consumers’ interest in a checking account from Amazon, as well as the loyalty and referral behaviors of bank customers in fee based checking accounts versus free accounts.

Plus, DeFazio will share the latest innovations from banks using voice-activated services with Amazon’s Alexa as well as real case studies of financial institutions who are successfully offering value-added subscription based checking accounts.

The 2018 BankDirector Acquire or Be Acquired Conference will take place Jan. 28-30, with DeFazio’s breakout session on Monday, Jan. 29 at 3:10 p.m. MT. For those unable to attend the session in person, StrategyCorps will also offer an encore presentation webinar on Friday, Feb. 16 at 12:00 p.m. MT. To register for the webinar, visit
